MHS GRAD EARNS SOCCER HONORS

     November 1997 - Jackie Pang, a 1996 MHS graduate, was named MVP in the North Central Colorado Soccer Conference. Pang led University of Northern Colorado to its second straight conference title. Her team also includes five players from Hawaii.


CURBSIDE RECYCLING OF NEWSPAPERS, ALUMINUM, & GLASS

     November 1997 - Curbside pickup of newspapers, aluminum cans, & glass jars without lids can be arranged by calling MTA maintenance dept at 623-7300. The items must be bundled separately. The newspapers & glass jars are donated to local schools. Money from aluminum cans are deposited into the MTA's operating fund.


CRIME FORUM SCHEDULED

     November 1997 - A public forum on auto thefts & home burglaries is set for 7pm Dec 2 at Rec Center III. The forum is sponsored by State Reps Ron Menor & Marilyn Lee.


XMAS CRAFT FAIR AT MILILANI SHOPPING CENTER

     November 1997 - Mililani Shopping Center is bring back it's popular xmas craft fair on Dec 13. Sellers may reserve space by calling 593-0318.


PEE WEE CHEERLEADERS COMPETITING IN NATIONAL COMPETITION

    November 1997 - The following Mililani Pee Wee cheerleaders won the recent Oahu competition, & will be vying for the national championships next month in Orlando, Florida: Chelsie Agdinaday, Sherena Avilla, Jolynn Kahoiwai, Christina Lasky, Sarah Parker, Rellen Resuello, Keolani Ventura-Castillo, & Tiffany Villa. The girls are coached by Percel Agbanlog & Rachel gambol. Donations to help fund the trip can be made by contacting Bryan Jeremiah at 627-8415.

     SHOPPING CENTERS SCHEDULE XMAS EVENTS

     November 1997 - Two shopping centers in Mililani announced the following Christmas events.
   Mililani Shopping Center: Festival of Lights, 7pm Fri Nov 28. Craft Fair, 9am-3pm Sat Dec 13.
   Town Center of Mililani: Santa, tree lighting, & MHS Band concert, 6pm-8pm Sat Nov 29. Pictures with Santa, 5-9pm Thur & Fri Dec 4 & 5, & 10am-2pm Sat Dec 6.
   Both shopping centers will also participate in the Mililani Xmas parade, starting at the Town Center at 9am Sat Dec 6.


ECONOMIC REFORM TO BE DISCUSSED

     November 1997 - The recommendations of the Economic Revitalization Task Force will be discussed at a town meeting at 7pm to 9pm, Nov. 12 at Mililani Waena Elementary School. The meeting is being sponsored by State Sen. Robert Bunda, & State Reps. Marilyn Lee, Ron Menor, & Marcus Oshiro. Call 586-9460 for more information.


MTA SPONSORED HOLIDAY CLASSES SCHEDULED

     November 1997 - Do you need ideas on how to decorate your Thanksgiving table? Learn how at Rec V on Nov 6, 7pm to 9pm.
   Learn to decorate shirts for Christmas at Rec Center VI, Nov 13, 7pm to 9pm.
   Handmake your Christmas decorations at Rec Center V, Nov 20, 7pm to 9pm. Call Kristi at 623-7300 for prices & registration information.
   Learn to make money leis at Rec VI, Nov 18, 7pm to 9pm. A separate rose-money making class is set for Rec VI, Nov 25, 7pm to 9pm
   The fee for each class is $15 with an MTA ID card or $20 without a card.


CHURCH TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE

     November 1997 - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints will hold an open house from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, Nov 8 at 95-1039 Meheula Parkway.


XMAS BAZAAR SCHEDULED

     November 1997 - Kipapa Elementary School will have a xmas Bazaar from 1:30pm to 4:30pm, Nov 19 in the school cafeteria. Proceeds will fund classroom activities & needs.
