UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX SPONSORS INFORMATION MEETING FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS

    HONOLULU – University of Phoenix will hold a free information meeting for working professionals interested in obtaining an academic degree on Tuesday, November 2 in Miliani.
    University enrollment counselors will be available to provide information on how adults can achieve higher education while still pursuing their careers.
    Information will be available on degree programs in business, information systems, nursing, teacher education and counseling.
    Programs are offered in Kapolei, and the downtown and Mililani facilities. Financial aid information will also be available.
    The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the University of Phoenix, Mililani Learning Center, located at Mililani Technology Park, 300 Kahelu Avenue, Suite 10.
    "University of Phoenix is unique in its approach to higher education," said Grace Blodgett, vice president and campus director. "Our programs are directed towards working professionals by offering them a convenient and efficient way to obtain a quality education, without interrupting their careers."

PUBLIC INVITED TO COMMUNITY CRIME PREVENTION FORUM

    Rep. Ron Menor and Rep. Marilyn Lee in cooperation with the Mililani Community Police and the Mililani Town Association,
will sponsor a Crime Prevention Forum on November 9, 1999 from 7:45-8:45 PM at Mililani Recreation Center 5.
    Speakers from the HPD will address prevention of household crime and traffic safety measures.
    Members of the Mililani community and

IMPORTANT EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP PLANNED FOR NOV 2.

    The Mililani Complex PTSA will hold a "Community Voices" public workshop on Nov 2, 1999 at Rec Center 3, 7 -9pm.
    The purpose of the workshop is to develop school/community-based management (SCBM) at a complex level in which parents coordinate calendars, curriculum, and budget priorities in Mililani schools, grades K-12.
    James Kuroiwa, Jr., architect of the Complex SCBM, will be the featured speaker.
    Central District Superintendent Gary Griffiths has expressed interest in monthly community workshops on educational issues and solutions, including an interest in the Complex SCBM.
    Membership is open to anyone who believes in the National PTA mission and objectives, which include promotion of child welfare, intelligent cooperation between educators and parents, public involvement in education, development of parental skills, and support of children in the schools, community and before governmental bodies and other agencies making decisions that affect children.
    New memberships will be accepted throughout the year. Membership dues are $5 per person per year.
