As a Mililani resident for many years, I commend my former neighbors in Central Oahu for creating this innovative and informative site -- and for their pioneering role in introducing the community website concept to Hawaii. I know that other communities throughout our islands, with the benefit of Mililani's example and experience, will soon be initiating their own efforts in cyberspace.

I encourage Mililani residents and others with Internet access to explore the diverse offerings of Mililani Interactive. I am especially pleased to learn that -- in addition to news about neighborhood schools, parks and other community activities -- there is a section on government. This feature will enable constituents to become more informed about public issues and should lead to their working more effectively with their elected officials on matters of common concern.
