SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER  2001
  • The MHS boys cross country team won the OIA Western Division championship.
  • The Silver Surfers of the Mililani Inline Hockey Association won the PeeWee division title on November 17, 2001. Team members are Sanoe Aina, Zack Cheek, David Gladman, Brandyn Green, Nigel Higa, Bronson Loftin, Doug Robinson, Skye Shichida, Micah Souza, and Evan Tanaka. Coaches are Nathan Higa & Baron Loftin.

  • M'Zamba girls's U19 won first place in the Hawaii Cup soccer tournament hled on Kahului, Maui.
  • Team Mililani (11-1 regular season) competed in the postseason at the Bullard Cal Ripken Classic Tournament in Fresno, Calif.
  • MSC's U16 wont the HYSA 2001 Aces soccer tournament by defeating Chula Vista Pumas of California 4-2.
  • Anne Uruu & Vincent Pryce was named most outstanding competitors in the recent Hawaiian Kajukenbo Association's Championship Karate Tournament.
  • Mililani Soccer Club is looking for experienced coaches, and has openings for its U17 girls Gold Premier team & U14 & U16 girls teams.
  • U10 Eagles won the Riggers U10 5-A-Side championship tournament.
  • Gavin Shibuya scored a hole-in-one on Sep 4 on the 125-yd 6th hole at Mililani Golf Club.

JULY - AUGUST 2001

  • MSC has openings for its U17 girls Gold Premier team. Call Norman Beter at 623-6148.
  • Mililani Warriors won 1st place in the boys U10 division of the HYSA Aloha International Tournament.
  • Mililani Blues won the Squirt division inline hockey title.
  • MSC Ke Ali`i finished 2nd in the boys U12 division of the HYSA Aloha International Tournament.
  • Randall Toma scored a hole-in-one on August 19 on the 137-yd 16th hole at New Ewa Beach using a 7-iron.
  • Robert Horii scored a hole-in-one on August 10 on the 160-yd 11th hole at Olomana using a 4-iron.
  • The Mililani Inline Hockey Association Mokes won the Midget Division (age 17 & under) in the USA Regional Championship held in Kailua-Kona.
  • Mililani Aloha Aquatics Swim Club took 4th place in the 2001 Hawaiian Swimming Age Group Long Course State Championships held in Hilo.
  • Mililani2 won the Bronco (age 11-12) division at the Central Oahu Police Activities League volleyball championships.
  • Fred Sims scored a hole-in-one on June 13 on the 137-yd 3rd hole at Manele using a 4-iron.

  • Soobing Kang scored a hole-in-one on July 4 on the 119-yd 6th hole at Kahuku using a driver.
  • Peter Kenks scored a hole-in-one on July 7 on the 167-yd 2nd hole at Malama Bay using a 6-iron.
  • Kathy Watanabe scored a hole-in-one on July 7 on the 126-yd 15th hole at Pearl Country Club using an 8-iron.
  • Three Bobby Sox all-star teams will be going to the nationals: Mililani 9-under, Mililani 11-under, & Mililani 13-under.
  • Clyde Matsuwaki scored a hole-in-one on June 29 on the 115-yd 2nd hole at Coral Creek using a 6-iron.
  • Dennis Onaga scored a hole-in-one on June 29 on the 121-yd 6th hole at Ted Makalena  using a 7-iron.
  • Krystal Hangai will be joining the UH-Hilo women's tennis team.
  • Bob Berry goalkeeper's clinic will be at the Mililani District Park on Aug 4, 11, & 18, 9am-3pm. Call Bob Barry at 236-4515 or 949-5355 for info.

MAY - JUNE 2001

  • Dexa Manivong scored a hole-in-one on June 10 on the 154-yd 9th hole at West Loch using a 6-iron.
  • Edmond Yee scored a hole-in-one on June 8 on the 111-yd 13th hole at Kalakaua using an 8-iron.
  • Ed Teranishi scored a hole-in-one on June 3 on the 147-yd 15th hole at Ewa Villages using a wedge.
  • The Yankees & Orioles finished as co-champions of the 2001 Mililani Pinto division.
  • Mililani won the OIA track title. story
  • Aloha Aquatics-Mililani took 3rd place at the 30th annual Aulea Invitational Swim meet.
  • James Oshiro scored a hole-in-one on May 7 on the 154-yd 12th hole at West Loch using an 8-iron.
  • Ed Ishisaka scored a hole-in-one on April 22 on the 107-yd 17th hole at Ted Makalena Course using an 7-iron.
  • Mililani beat Pearl City 3-1 to claim the OIA girls tennis title. story
  • The Mililani Knights won the Under-9 division if the HYSAO Oahu Cup Tornament. Team members are Rordan Oshiro, Jeremy Fujimoto, Cory Nakagawa, Nicholas Valdez, Keoki Lopez, Dean Fujimoto, Kekai Ariola, Michael Arakaki, Troy Conant, Jordan Perkins, Raymond Sugihara, & Isiah Sato. Coaches are Lisa Nakagawa & Brent Murakami.
  • Mililani Soccer Club is seeking under-14 boys to play in the HYSA spring Season. Must be born between Aug 1, 1987 & Dec 31, 1988. Call Milton Iha at 626-0239 or email iham001@hawaii.rr.com.

MARCH - APRIL 2001

  • Mele French, Jennifer Iha, Mallory Iha, & Eryn Kishimoto were named to the Allstate Girls Soccer Team. James Uson was named co-coach of the year.
  • Kahi Hernandez & Jarrett Razon were named to the Allstate Boys Soccer Team, & Jeff Yamamoto was named co-coach of the year.
  • Britney "B.J." Shimamoto was named to the Allstate Girls Softball Team.
  • Andrew Delos Reyes was named to the All League wrestling team.
  • Justin Iwase scored a hole-in-one on Mar 20 on the 141-yd 6th hole at Mililani Golf Club using an 8-iron.
  • The Leaping Lizards won first place in the Bantam Division of the Mililani Inline Hockey Association's Fall/Winter season.
  • Quincy Solano placed 3rd & Lance Tomasa placed 7th in the boys 1 meter diving event at the Local Motion State swimming & diving championships at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. Nathan Lee placed 7th in the 100 meter breast stroke. 
  • The MHS varsity pep squad placed 3rd at the OIA championships held at Radford H.S. The JV squad placed 2nd.
  • An adult & teen 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held Mar 24, 9am-6pm & Mar 25 noon-6pm at the Mililani YMCA. Registration deadline is Mar 21. Call Scott Gillespie at 625-1040 for info. 
  • Hawaiian Kajukenbo Association Tournament
  • Ala Kayatani scored a hole-in-one on Feb 24 on the 217-yd 4th hole at Hawaii CC using a 5-wood.

JANUARY - FEBRUARY 2001

  • Mililani beats Hilo 2-0 for state soccer title.

  • The Terminators beat the Speed Demons 6-5 to win 1st place in the fall/winter Mililani inline hockey
    season.
  • Mililani 2nd to Kalaheo in OIA boys basketball championships. Story.
  • Mililani 2nd to Baldwin in state girls soccer championship. Story.
  • The X-Men beat the Predators 15-9 to win the Squirt Division of the Mililani Inline Hockey Association fall/winter season.
  • The Mililani Men's Mountainball League begins its season from Feb thru June. Call Art 623-4637 evenings or Paul 956-8276 days for info.
  • Aloha Aquatics-Mililani finished 6th in the 2001 Hawaii State Short Course Championships held at Punahou Schoo.
  • Pearl City boys beat Mililani 1-0 in the OIA soccer championships.  Story.
  • Mililani girls beat Iolani 3-2 for 3rd place in the state softball championships.
  • The Ekahi Strikers won the under-9 girls championship by beating the Honolulu Soccer Club's Bulls 3-1.

  • Trojans caputure 3rd consecutive OIA baseball title.
  • 9-Under Boys team of the Mililani HYSA is holding tryouts at 16-Acres Park on Wednesdays 4:30-6:30pm, & at the District Park on Fridays, 7-9pm.
