PROTECT YOUR HOME & YOUR NEIGHBORS
by Hillsdale Homeowners Association
- Dowels & pins are inexpensive ways to keep
your windows & sliding doors secured.
- Replace your lock with a double-sided one which
requires a key to lock & unlock it from the inside & outside. That way, burglars
cannot escape through your front door.
- Always lock your windows & doors whenever you
leave your home, even if it is only for a short while. You never know who is waiting for
an opportunity to strike.
- Always lock your windows at night.
- Know your neighbors. If you see anyone suspicious
attempting to enter their home, call 911 immediately. Better safe than sorry.
- Inform a trusted neighbor when you will be away
for an extended period of time so that they can watch over your home.
- Watch for suspicious vehicles. Write down a
description of the care (make, model, color, distinguishing marks), its license plate
number, & a description of its occupants. Report this information to the police.
